Disneyland Travel Guide
Disneyland is two parks a short walk apart, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, with Downtown Disney between them. It's smaller and easier to get around than Disney World, and three days covers it well. I help you pick dates, a hotel and a Lightning Lane plan that fit.
Disneyland
Where I'm sending people now
Grand Californian if the budget allows. It has its own entrance into California Adventure. Disneyland Hotel is the classic pick. Pixar Place is the value Disney hotel. Good Neighbor hotels on Harbor Blvd are often a shorter walk.
Midweek from mid-January to early March (skip Presidents' Day week) or the weeks after Labor Day. Holiday season runs November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027. It's busy, so go on weekdays.
One-day tickets run $104 to $224 depending on the date. Add $35 per person per day for Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Disney's three hotels are expensive. Good Neighbor hotels cut lodging costs a lot.
Early Entry for Disney hotel guests ended January 5, 2026. Now you get one free Lightning Lane entry per stay, not per day. Multi Pass is $35 bought before you arrive and from $38 same day.

Know before you go
Getting there
Orange County (SNA) is 20-30 minutes away; LAX is 45-90 minutes depending on traffic, and Long Beach (LGB) is a good alternative. A car service or rideshare is easiest.
Getting around
Skip the car if you can: I put clients in hotels within walking distance of the gates, and the ART shuttle and rideshare cover the rest. If you drive, standard parking is about $40 a day.
Money and tipping
Budget for Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass, which are priced per day and spike on busy dates. Cards and Apple Pay work everywhere, and I use mobile ordering for every meal to save line time.
