Old Faithful Inn
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Historic and unbeatable for location, steps from Old Faithful, but it's a lodge, not a luxury hotel.
You want to be at Old Faithful before the crowds and history matters more than polish
You need modern bathrooms, air conditioning or Wi-Fi
The 1904 log lodge with the soaring lobby and massive stone fireplace, a few minutes' walk from Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin. It's a summer-only hotel (April 30 to October 11, 2027), and no room has TV, air conditioning or Wi-Fi.
I recommend it for anyone who wants to walk the geyser basin at dawn and after the day-trippers leave. The trade-off: Old House rooms can mean shared hall bathrooms, the wings are basic, and it sells out far ahead, so I go for East Wing suites or deluxe rooms the day they open.

Key Amenities & Experiences
Historic log lobby with a giant stone fireplace
Steps from Old Faithful and the boardwalks
Old Faithful Inn Dining Room and Bear Paw Deli
East Wing suites with partial geyser basin views
