The Little Nell sits at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola, which makes it the one hotel in downtown Aspen where you ski back to the door. It's small, polished and service-heavy, with Element 47 for serious dinners and wine, Ajax Tavern for the slopeside après crowd, and what it calls Aspen's only slopeside spa.
I recommend it for couples and skiers who want zero hassle between the lift and the room. The trade-off is price and noise at the base: Ajax Tavern's patio is the busiest après spot in town, and rates are among the highest in Aspen.
