Rates & Booking Options
Waldorf Astoria New York
New York, NY
The reborn icon: big new rooms, a huge spa and Peacock Alley, with rates that match the hype.
You want a famous name with real room space in Midtown
You're watching your budget or want a downtown neighborhood feel
After an eight-year closure, the Waldorf reopened in July 2025 with 375 rooms instead of the old 1,400 plus, so rooms now start around 475 square feet, which is generous for Manhattan. The Art Deco lobby and Peacock Alley are back, Lex Yard from chef Michael Anthony is the signature restaurant, and there's a 30,000 square foot spa.
I recommend it for milestone trips and anyone who wants real space in Midtown. The honest trade-off is price, since rates usually start around $1,100 a night before tax, and Midtown East goes quiet at night compared with downtown.
