The St. Regis opened inside Cap Cana, the gated luxury enclave south of the main Punta Cana resort strip. It's one of the few true five-star, non-all-inclusive hotels in the area.
It's quieter and more refined than most Punta Cana resorts. Sargassum can affect beaches across the region in summer, so I check conditions before booking warmer months.
