Disney's flagship: polished, classic and steps from Magic Kingdom, priced like it.
You want the classic Disney luxury experience and plan to spend real time at Magic Kingdom.
You are mostly visiting EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, or if the rate would push out park tickets or dining.

The Grand Floridian is the dressiest resort Disney runs, a Victorian-style hotel on Seven Seas Lagoon with white gables, a live piano or orchestra in the lobby and some of the best restaurants on property. The lobby was redone in 2025 with a new bar called The Perch, and the Garden View Lounge reopened in 2026 as an Alice in Wonderland tea experience.
I recommend it when Magic Kingdom is the center of the trip and the budget has room. You can take the monorail, a boat or simply walk the path to the park gates. The honest trade-off is price: you pay a premium for the name and the location, and the rooms are lovely but not dramatically bigger than other deluxe options.

The stay, in detail
Rooms
Rooms sleep five in most categories with a soft, light Victorian look; lagoon and theme park view rooms are worth it if fireworks matter to you. The Big Pine Key building is Disney Vacation Club villas and was recently refreshed.
Pools and beach
There are two main pools, including a beach pool with a water slide and splash area, plus a white sand beach along Seven Seas Lagoon (no swimming in the lagoon).
Dining
Victoria & Albert's, Narcoossee's, Cítricos, 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella and friends), the Grand Floridian Cafe (back from a refresh in late 2026) and Gasparilla Island Grill for quick bites.
